YOUR WEDDING ALBUM![]() YOUR WEDDING ALBUM The one thing you'll never sell and never throw away!
The other day I had photos taken of myself as it was time to renew my passport. The last time I had photos taken was 10 years ago and when I placed my new photo next to the old one I was not impressed with how I had changed in just 10 years but nevertheless, it was quite amazing to see the difference. 10 years ago I had more hair, was thinner and looked overall fresher but what the heck my wife still loves me right.
I was married in 1988 and back then was not a photographer; I actually didn't have professional photos taken at my wedding. I was married in a beautiful old church in a European town but unfortunately, the photos my cousin took are still in the bottom draw. Both my wife and I never dare take them out they look shocking! The images are dark, blurry and just ugly as can be although we were not a bad looking couple and in fact my wife looked stunning on her wedding day. She never stops telling me she would give anything for an album like my couples get and how lucky they are.
So out of personal experience let me say that if we could go back in time the one thing we would be sure to organize for our wedding would be a good photographer and wedding album. We have nothing to show our children and their children one day. What a mistake and what a shame.
The moment you walk out the door from your wedding reception everything is gone. The one and only thing that stays with you for life are your photos but more so your wedding album. You won't want to look at images on a computer screen and certainly won't care to sit around and watch a video. The wedding album is the only thing you will keep close to you and look at regularly.
Looking back 10, 30, 50 years or more would seem surreal, like a dream. I too would give anything to see photos of my bride standing at the Alter; I would pay anything to see her again in her beautiful youth.
If you think about it the wedding dress ends up in a box, the flowers die, the DJ, the venue etc you can't even remember. Everything is like a distant dream everything is gone.
So how important is your wedding album? Simple answer priceless!
The bride pictured below ended up with an 88 side album. The album was so thick that I had to create two albums part 1 & part 2 to make it all fit. Was it expensive? Yes and no, perhaps I should say yes initially it was but actually no it was not. Sophie now has an album which she will show her family, friends, children and grandchildren for the rest of her life. She will never look quite the same again as she did on her wedding day so the investment was certainly worth every penny. See her letter to me after receiving the album below. See Sophie's album on my main website ALBUM 3 Dear Gordon,
